Embark on a thrilling 4-day Serengeti Tanzania Safari, where you’ll stay in a comfortable lodge and explore the renowned north circuit parks in a custom safari jeep with a pop-up roof, accompanied by a knowledgeable guide/driver.

Your adventure begins with a visit to the iconic Ngorongoro Crater, known for its breathtaking landscapes and abundant wildlife. With its unique crater floor setting, sightings of animals are practically guaranteed, offering surreal views and unforgettable experiences.

Next, venture to Tarangire National Park, often likened to a smaller Serengeti but celebrated for its impressive elephant population. Here, you’ll have ample time to observe wild animals in their natural habitats and unwind amidst the tranquility of the parks.

This tour is perfect for animal enthusiasts seeking an immersive safari experience. While you’ll share a safari jeep for game drives, your accommodation will provide the privacy and comfort you need to relax after a day of exploration.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

We’ll start our adventure by picking you up from your hotel and introducing you to our guide and chef. Then, we’ll embark on a 2-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its diverse landscape and incredible wildlife.

This park is famous for its ancient Baobab trees and boasts the largest concentration of elephants in the country. Keep your eyes peeled for sightings of these majestic creatures and observe the fascinating interactions within elephant families. During our game drive, we’ll focus on areas where animal sightings are reported, with a special emphasis on spotting predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards, as well as plenty of herbivores such as giraffes, wildebeests, and zebras.

After our thrilling game drive, we’ll head to the Tarangire River picnic site for lunch, where you can enjoy the beautiful view of the river and spot some curious monkeys and baboons. Don’t worry, they’re just looking for a snack!

Following lunch, we’ll continue our game drive until around 4:30 pm when we’ll exit the park and head to our accommodation in Mto Wa Mbu at Suricata Boma Lodge. Here, you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and relax after an exciting day of wildlife exploration.

Day 2: Mto wa mbu to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we’ll depart from Mto Wa Mbu to Serengeti, a journey that takes approximately 6 hours, including all stops. As we pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, we’ll make a brief stop at the gate and viewpoint to admire the breathtaking vista of the crater for about 20 minutes.

Next, we’ll have the option to visit a Maasai village to learn about the culture of this renowned tribe. Though optional, this visit offers insight into the traditions and way of life of the Maasai people, known for their lion-chasing prowess and hunting skills. The visit typically lasts between 20 to 45 minutes.

Continuing our journey, we’ll arrive at Serengeti National Park, a vast expanse covering 14,750 square kilometers and famous for the annual wildebeest and zebra migration, numbering over 1.5 million wildebeest and 250,000 zebras. Our focus will be on the Seronera region, the heart of the Serengeti.

Upon arrival in the late afternoon, we’ll enjoy lunch before embarking on an exhilarating game drive in Seronera until late evening. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife sightings, and with luck, you may witness a predator in action or catch a glimpse of a stunning sunset over the Serengeti plains.

After our game drive, we’ll head to Serengeti Matawi Camp for dinner and an overnight stay, ensuring a comfortable end to our eventful day of exploration.

Day 3: Serengeti to Ngorongoro

In the heart of Serengeti National Park, the day begins early at 6:00 am with a refreshing cup of coffee before setting out for a morning game viewing adventure. As the sun rises, illuminating the landscape with its golden glow, we’ll embark on a thrilling game drive, keeping warm in the chilly morning air with layers of clothing.

We’ll continue our game drive until mid-day, soaking in the beauty of the Serengeti and observing the diverse wildlife that calls this park home. Then, we’ll return to camp for a hearty full breakfast and a satisfying lunch.

After replenishing our energy, we’ll depart from the camp and journey towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, we’ll enjoy a game drive, soaking in the scenic views and keeping our eyes peeled for any wildlife sightings.

Finally, we’ll arrive at Ang’ata Camp in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where a delicious dinner awaits us. After a day filled with adventure and excitement, we’ll retire to our accommodations for a restful overnight stay, ready to continue our safari journey the next day.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

On your final day of the Tanzania Safari, after breakfast and enjoying a picnic lunch, we’ll embark on a short drive to the descending gate of the Ngorongoro Crater. From there, we’ll make our way down to the crater floor, descending 650 meters into this natural wonder.

During our half-day crater tour, we’ll have the chance to spot a variety of wildlife, including the elusive rhinoceros if we’re lucky. The crater is home to numerous permanent resident animals, as its permanent water sources attract a wide array of species year-round. While animals are free to come and go from the crater, many choose to stay due to the abundant resources available.

After our crater exploration, we’ll ascend back up to the crater rim and return to camp to pick up our camping staff. From there, we’ll begin our journey back to Arusha, marking the end of our short but unforgettable 4-day Tanzania safari.

As we bid farewell to the breathtaking landscapes and incredible wildlife of Tanzania, we’ll cherish the memories created during our safari adventure.
